About Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar founder of The Art of Living

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a globally revered spiritual and humanitarian leader. He has spearheaded an unprecedented worldwide movement for a stress-free, violence-free society . Through a myriad of programs and teachings, a network of organizations including the Art of Living and the International Association for Human Values, and a rapidly growing presence across 155 countries, Gurudev has reached an estimated 370 million people. The Beginning
Born in 1956 in Southern India, Gurudev was a gifted child. By the age of four, he was able to recite the Bhagavad Gita, an ancient Sanskrit scripture, and was often found in meditation. He holds degrees in, both, Vedic literature and physics.

In 1982, Gurudev entered a ten-day period of silence in Shimoga located in the Indian state of Karnataka. The Sudarshan Kriya, a powerful breathing technique, was born. With time, the Sudarshan Kriya became the center-piece of the Art of Living courses.

Namaste,
I am  Poonam Jain , an Art Of Living Happiness Course Teacher . By education I am a post graduate and have an experience of more than 30 years  in a professional job. . While going through the Happiness Course I could see /feel many  times transformation  at the physical, mental and emotional level. Sudarshan Kriya has helped me going through many challenges of life . Other advanced level of  Meditation Courses of Art of Living has taken me up at the higher levels where I could further  take a deep dive within my own inner selves. It was journey of my inner self , a journey from head to  heart.  The question I asked myself was Who Am I ?   It was with this question that  my mission of transforming lives  began so that I could help other live a happy, peaceful , stress free life which help to achieve  goals not only in the other world but also inner peace. The   knowledge and wisdom by Gurudev is fathomless  and has no boundaries.   As a part of sewa   I volunteered myself  which could  transform many other lives  through the knowledge of Sudarshan Kriya and other advance level of meditation Courses  of Art of Living.  The simple knowledge of Gurdev will help people in walks of life -at professional level thereby improvement in their capabilities do their  job in a much better way , at career growth , at relationship level and many more.
